This one is one was used as a decoration for the horse on special occassions, like festivals and weddings, when the groom goes to pick up the bride on a horse. This throw is fully embroidered by hand with a cotton silk stitch on a linen - cotton fabric. It is vintage (approximate 50+ years old), has small signs of usage (please check the photos. I try to display them all), which makes it no less beautiful, instead it becomes even more interesting and "alive" . Of course it was dry cleaned ( there is no horse smell!).
Our textile treasures have been collected from the houses of tribal villages in the desert regions of Gujarat and Rajastan. The local tribal people there are famous for their colorful textile craftsmanship and unique types of embroidery art.
